Alvin Kamara committed to the Crimson Tide out of Norcross High School in Georgia, where he was a four star running back with offers from Georgia, Florida State, and Tennessee, among others. At Alabama, Kamara found himself fighting it out on the depth chart with lots of stiff competition from the 2013 class, including Derrick Henry, Altee Tenpenny, and Tyren Jones. After a season where he didn’t play at all, and was in frequent trouble for violations of team rules, Kamara decided to transfer to Hutchinson Community College in Kansas for the 2014 season.

Kamara’s skill on the field is in no way in doubt. How he conducts himself off of the field could be cause for concern. Perhaps Kamara has matured in time to hit his stride running right away with the Vols. Time will tell.
