Vandy Anchors Down to Advance to National Championship Series

Vanderbilt downed Texas 4-3 in 10 innings to advance to its first College World Series Final. Rhett Wiseman went 2-for-4 on the night and scored the walk-off run for the Commodores.

The smoking hot Commodores will move on to face the Virginia Cavaliers in Game One of a best of three series on Monday night to decide who is the National Champion in the world of College Baseball.

Virginia Stays in Winner’s Bracket With Walk-Off Sac-Fly

Daniel Pinero’s sacrifice fly scored pinch runner Thomas Woodruff in the bottom of the 15th to give Virginia a 3-2 victory Tuesday night over Texas Christian in a game that matched the longest in the College World Series’ 66-year history.

The Mississippi Rebels eliminated the Texas Tech Red Raiders 2-1 in thrilling walk-off fashion as John Gatlin delivered just his fourth hit of the season to score the winning run in the bottom of the ninth.

Longhorns Knock Off Cardinals in CWS

The Texas Longhorns knocked off the Louisville Cardinals 4-1 in the first elimination game of the 2014 College World Series. Parker French scattered four hits over 7.1 solid innings for the Longhorns.

Texas will face the loser of the winner’s bracket game between Vanderbilt and UC-Irvine to be played on Monday night.
