Yesterday afternoon, the Vanderbilt Commodores beat a short-handed North Carolina St. Wolfpack squad 3-1 that suffered quarantine due COVID-19 protocols. According to NCAA.com, “the Vanderbilt vs. NC State game scheduled for Saturday has been ruled a no-contest due to COVID-19 protocols, as NC State “will not be able to continue in the championship”. In a late night affair that was delayed due to inclement weather in Omaha, the Texas Longhorns outlasted the Mississippi St. Bulldogs in an 8-5 contest. The Longhorns forced the “if necessary game” that will be played at 7 p.m. e.s.t. on Saturday night.
