State of the Sooners? They Hope It’s Improving

Shayn Roby’s Take: The Sooners were ranked #1 in the SRCS preseason “Roby Ratings”. Their loss to TCU and shaky performance while defeating Texas makes that initial assessment to have been inaccurate. They only have one loss, but to make the cut into the four team playoff, the Sooners will have to step up their play by a HUGE MARGIN.

After a mediocre win over Texas, Oklahoma’s football team is back in the win column following the loss to TCU.

But the Sooners know they have to get better if they want to play their way into the four-team college football playoff.

OU hosts #14 Kansas State this Saturday at 11:00 am.

OU Backup Quarterback Saga Continues, but only at Backup Spot

The only controversy in Norman regarding the position of offensive signal caller would be at backup quarterback. What coach in his right mind would consider not starting Trevor Knight after he carved up Alabama’s defense in the 2014 Sugar Bowl in New Orleans?

Boomer Sugar!

The Oklahoma Sooners bailed out Bob Stoops’s tongue as they defeated the Alabama Crimson Tide in the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans, Louisiana.  Earlier in the season, Stoops had referred to the Southeastern Conference as being overrated.  Prior to the Sugar Bowl, the record of SEC teams in bowl games this season was 5-1, while the Big 12 was 2-2.  However, as Muhammad Ali once reportedly said,”It’s not bragging if you can back it up.”

Oklahoma Sooners 45   Alabama Crimson Tide 31

In addition to the game, Saturday Down South managed to capture some extracurricular activity that one Tide fan decided to unleash on a Sooner fan. No word on whether Jack Daniels, Wild Turkey, or some other byproduct of the processes of anaerobic glycolysis and distillation contributed to the overzealous interaction.
